Sullivan Brown cloth with copper -colored gilt on spine, stamped coat of arms on upper and lower covers of each volume. Top edges gilt, other edges stained brown. Front paste-down end-papers have different illustration in each volume, with matching illustration on title page. Histories: Hinge started at feps and at pp. 886-887, else binding tight. 12 photogravure plates by E. J. Sullivan. Tragedies: Hinge started at frontispiece and reps, else binding tight. Tiny spots of foxing on rpd. 13 photogravures. Comedies: ffep and frontispiece (Winter's Tale) missing, tissue guard remains. Hinge started inside front cover and at reps, also at pp. 576-577, else binding tight. 13 of 14 photogravure s remain, some small spots of foxing in margins.
